Diwali 2022: Festival of lights, Diwali, will be celebrated this year on October 24, 2022. It is a five day long celebration that commences with Dhanteras and ends with Bhaiya Dooj. According to astrology, there is a solar eclipse (Surya Grahan) on the next day of Diwali i.e., October 25, 2022. In such a situation, this year Govardhan Puja will be celebrated on the third day of Diwali i.e., October 26, 2022. Performing any Puja during Surya Grahan is considered to be inauspicious.
Special Note :- According to the Astrologer Nandini Sharma, People can offer Deepam to the Lord Yama which is known as 'Yamadeepam' on October 22, 2022 and Laxmi Pujan can be performed on both the days - October 22 and 23 also. On October 23, Trayodashi will be Udaya Tithi so this year, people can purchase things on 23 October, 2022 also.

Diwali 2022: Celebration
The celebration of Diwali includes lighting the house with lights and diyas (earthen lamps) and decorate the house with flowers and rangolis. There is a tradition to leave the windows as well as the doors of the house open to seek the blessings of the deities by allowing them to enter to bless their lives and homes with happiness and prosperity.
In Southern India, Diwali marks the home coming of their ancient King Mahabali and people decorate their houses with flowers and cow dung to welcome the King. Govardhan Puja is done on this day.

दिवाली पर शुभ मुहूर्त कब है?
इस साल कार्तिक माह की अमावस्या तिथि 24 और 25 अक्टूबर दोनों दिन पड़ रही है। लेकिन 25 अक्टूबर को अमावस्या तिथि प्रदोष काल से पहले ही समाप्त हो रही है। वहीं 24 अक्टूबर को प्रदोष काल में अमावस्या तिथि होगी। 24 अक्टूबर को निशित काल में भी अमावस्या तिथि होगी। इसलिए इस साल 24 अक्टूबर को ही पूरे देश में दीवाली का पर्व मनाया जाएगा।
दिवाली पर लक्ष्मी-गणेश पूजन विधि
दिवाली पर शुभ मुहूर्त में लक्ष्मी-गणेश की पूजा विधि पूर्वक की जाती है। पहले कलश को तिलक लगाकर पूजा आरम्भ करें। इसके बाद अपने हाथ में फूल और चावल लेकर मां लक्ष्मी और भगवान गणेश का ध्यान करें।
ध्यान के पश्चात भगवान श्रीगणेश और मां लक्ष्मी की प्रतिमा पर फूल और अक्षत अर्पण करें। फिर दोनों प्रतिमाओं को चौकी से उठाकर एक थाली में रखें और दूध, दही, शहद, तुलसी और गंगाजल के मिश्रण से स्नान कराएं। इसके बाद स्वच्छ जल से स्नान कराकर वापस चौकी पर विराजित कर दें।
स्नान कराने के उपरांत लक्ष्मी-गणेश की प्रतिमा को टीका लगाएं। माता लक्ष्मी और गणेश जी को हार पहनाएं। इसके बाद लक्ष्मी गणेश जी के सामने बताशे, मिठाइयां फल, पैसे और सोने के आभूषण रखें। फिर पूरा परिवार मिलकर गणेश जी और लक्ष्मी माता की कथा सुनें और फिर मां लक्ष्मी की आरती उतारें।
